Firsts and subsequents

Sometimes the first of an event is most exciting, and sometimes a latter occurrence is more significant.
A first stroller ride (in a LONG time). Always a great diversion.
A second hair cut (Naomi!) followed by fun birthday party (first time finger painting!).
First time to the mall with both kiddos. Naomi picked our glasses.
Watching Cinderella, the second time through with no fast forwarding. A major feat as the first time, the movie was shortened to about 19 minutes.
Leif's first bites of cereal! He went from a puckered, distressed face to making noise and kicking his feet until he received an additional bite. Success!

 First frisbee lesson!

"We know the excitement of getting a present--we love to unwrap it to see what is inside. So it is with our children. They are gifts we unwrap for years as we discover the unique characters God has made them" (Cornelius Plantinga).
Nap time?

 Double trouble.
My Valentines day date. Our family Valentines day dinner (Saturday).
"My big sister has a fascinating skill set. And great hair."

Some people told me I was crazy to have children so close together. (Helpful really after I'm already pregnant). But the last week has given me some fodder to believe that we (God!) really planned it well.
They are very affectionate towards one another.
Naomi is at my side for making dinner and doing dishes almost daily (always cute, and sometimes incredible helpful).  Here she successfully retrieved three potatoes for broccoli cheese soup. Leif is enjoying Daddy's soccer game (Naomi is doing flips in the grass behind).
Action shot! Naomi playing with her super-sweet friend Hannah while I was at work (thanks, Leslie)!
Library-bound. A willing set of hands to push her brother in the stroller is truly wonderful!

What's to come: A. Independent sitting. Leif grabbing and holding onto objects of interest. B. Fashion independence. Naomi checking out her clacky shoes, while sporting a conductor hat.
