Cozy Thanksgiving at Grandma and Opa's house

Movie night on the street, so Leif is introduced to the moby wrap. Then, temps drop,so Naomi and Grandma cozy up by the fireplace.
Thanksgiving!  Pie first, of course!!
What a feast!  Followed later, of course, by more pie!

Leif fitting right into the family...of good sleepers!!

Naomi's big day

Naomi did not have all the hustle and bustle of turning one this year, but she certainly had plenty of attention nonetheless.

Papaw and Nana visited for the weekend adding to the fun.
Good times were had by all, particularly the little munchkin.

Aunt Tami, Uncle David, and Justin came over for the two-year-plus-one-day celebration.
Good times.

A week at the lake: Highlights

Lake Nebo, North Carolina. Actually a shot of us leaving for the week, but it shows the amazing view we had going to the house.
Simple pleasures: finding rolling shopping carts.
Cozy lunch in Little Switzerland, NC.
Pontoon boat rental for a day. Like Gilligan's Island, we set out for a 3-hour tour...
...and stayed out until dinner time (unlike Gilligan's Island).  Clearly, no one was worse for wear.
 Our house!
Grandma bravely taking 80% of her grandchildren on an epic walk.
Some daddy-daughter bonding time on the lake.
Happy faces in the midst of Phil's five-course meal.

 Sophie, Naomi, and Kate.
Another walk with Grandma and popsicles for the "lief hebbers" (those who wanted one).
Good looking group! A week always goes by too quickly.

A week in Boerne: Highlights

 Picking produce with Papaw!
 Delivering wild flowers to Nana.
Playing "wee" as Naomi calls it.
 Sunset over the pasture.
Making cookies with Nana. A close second to "wash" - washing dishes and filling cups with water.
Disclaimer: We do not listen to Bieber.  Really.  Naomi only heard the song today.  But we still try and get our kicks as much as possible out in the Hill Country.

Mother's Day Weekend

I came home from a full day of work to these wonderful sights:
Phil grilled prime rib and served it over arugula with roasted red peppers, parmesan, and a homemade Giada dressing.  Saturday I woke up to breakfast on the table, and a pleasant, relaxing rest of the day.
Sunday, we rushed home (as much as possible) to get lunch prepared before losing Naomi to a nap.  Apparently, we didn't have to worry today: she climbed onto the couch with her purse and the 2011/Year of Naomi photo book.
After a walk to see the donkey, bull, and horses - snack in stroller - Naomi needed a bath.
But, she first rinsed off in the hose, and then was transported to the bath.
A little more of the hose excitement.  This girl is not hard to please!
Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mother and Moesa too. Also, Happy Mother's Day to a loving Mother-in-Law and 2 Grandmothers-in-Law. I'm so thankful for a rich heritage of Christian women in my life.  And for a husband and daughter who spoiled me all weekend.

Mom and Dad came the last weekend in April to go to the Cowboy's Stadium simulcast of Mozart's Magic Flute. Very interesting experience.
The next weekend, Phil's parents came and watched Naomi while Phil and I went to the Alison Krauss concert with friends.
Naomi's favorite series of books lately are the photo books I've made over the years.  Here, Papaw and Naomi are exploring the honeymoon edition.
Another dream realized: PURSES!  Last week, Naomi came to discover the joy of having a purse stuffed with treasures.  If she would start carrying 6-13 at the same time, she would be just like me as a little girl.
Naomi can be seen carrying a purse even to put out the recycling.
The weather was so gorgeous this past week, we went outside after dinner for some bubbles and airplanes.  I'm not sure which Naomi is especially enthralled with, but you can see the purse in arm's reach.
