A Tale as Old as Time

After readying ourselves for CCA's production of Beauty and the Beast since it was announced (in the fall?), which included watching the Disney version, finally the day of the show arrived.
We went through multiple accessory and hairstyle changes though Naomi was in her dress for the show since breakfast.
Not to miss out on all the fun, Leif creates a game for himself which included 3 footballs.
Ready for the big show! Dressed up with somewhere to go. Finally! My heart lurched ever so slightly to watch them drive off, realizing this is a window into my future. (Naomi brings up driving to school with Daddy every so often).
So, the play was such a hit, I splurged and took Naomi the next day (partially also because I wanted to see it myself). Naomi enjoyed the second view with her sweet friend, and both girls enjoyed talking to all the characters after the play.  You can the girls gazing after Belle right before she is whisked away for tea.

A quick day trip to Austin (plus a little before/a little after)

Leif is pointing now while reading books. He and Grandma are taking about Jane Austin.
Leif and Naomi stretching their legs after being great little travelers.
A little refreshment before heading back home.  The pizza was incredible.  Worth the eight hours of traveling!
Two of my sweethearts.
Back at home, another one of my sweethearts.
Enjoying some rain only to discover...
...A double rainbow! Even though you can really just see one. Trust me, there was a second.
Although it wasn't quite cold enough, we pretended it was and had our first fire in the "new" house (almost a year old for us). The kids loved it,  but I think I did most of all.

Naomi's first family portrait.

From the left, you have Naomi "with curly hair," Leif with his blanket, Daddy in glasses, and Mommy with yellow hair.

I did suggest adding glasses to Phil, but all other embellishments (background Christmas trees and the rainbow,  for example) are her own doing.

She aways does those curvy line mouths. I Don't know whether that is cute or creepy.

For reference, here is a family picture taken minutes after Phil's school soccer team won state championship for the second year in a row. What a game!

Happy Texas Day

86 degrees yesterday while watching Phil's soccer team advance to the semifinals.
Then today:
Love the unexpected. Kids do too.
